IN STUDIO ENGRAVING

I offer hand-engraving services, using a specialised engraving drill, for keepsakes of all kinds. It is a beautiful way to add a permanent personalised touch. Unlike the shorter lifespans of paint, ink and vinyl, engraving is forever.

For some items where engraving may not be possible, I may suggest heat foiling instead, such as on some woods, plastics and leather.

GUIDELINES:

  • I am happy to engrave on items you provide, but please contact me to ensure it is a surface I am able to engrave on. Please note I do not currently engrave on any electronic goods, (including airpod charging cases)

  • Pressurised bottles such as champagne cannot be engraved due to the danger of the bottle exploding. For these bottles, I offer personalisation with permanent paint for a safer option.

  • For many engraving items, I offer colour fill options of gold, silver and rose gold. Please note though that some surfaces may not be possible to fill, or are not advisable to fill, (e.g. if the engraving is close to the lip of the glass).

POPULAR ITEMS THAT CAN BE ENGRAVED BY HAND:

  • Glass: perfume & cologne bottles, wine glasses, wine bottles, liquor bottles, candle holders, Christmas ornaments.

  • Metal: stainless steel waterbottles, cake serving sets, chopping knives, compact mirrors, make up brushes, lipstick.

  • Ceramic/Porcelain: coffee mugs, cereal bowls, candle jars, Christmas ornaments.

  • Stone: marble, slate, agate, platters & coasters.

For In-studio engravings, the item can be shipped to me directly, or dropped off, and I will then mail back via SF Express (if local), or via international shipping, (please note this is not possible for alcohol and fragrances). Please allow 5-8 business days for engraving orders.

REQUEST AN ENGRAVING QUOTE

If you would like to request an engraving quote, please fill out the form below and I will get back to you within 3 working days.

NOTE: For one-off private orders, engraving starts at HKD 180 per item, (HKD 250 per wine bottle), and then depends on the length of text/complexity of design. Kolligraphy offers a range of script styles - if you would like to go ahead, we will send you these to choose from, and once your order is confirmed and we have received the item, a digital mock up will be provided for approval before your item itself is engraved.

TIMELINES & RUSH FEES:

A total of 8 working days is usually required from the item reaching the studio to the engraved piece being ready:
Drafting process: 2-3 working days
Engraving process: 5 working days from draft approval
We recommend getting in touch 2-3 weeks before you need the item ready.

If you need the item sooner, it may be possible, but will be subject to rush fees as follows:
6-7 working days: 30% rush fee
3-5 working days: 50% rush fee
1-2 working days: 100% rush fee

Please note that one-off personal engraving commissions are now fully booked until mid-May 2024.
Limited availability for corporate and orders involving multiple pieces.
